weekend+notes | 4.14.23

Although not quite done, I managed to squeeze in a lot of work in the yard this past week with the summer-like temperatures we are experiencing + a side visit to the National Cathedral grounds and Georgetown. The colorful bursts of pastels in the Bishop's Garden and the plantings dotting the front rows of the brick townhomes almost seem at first glance like forgotten Easter eggs tucked amongst the thick greenery.

It is always a treat to return to that part of Washington.

Have a fabulous weekend.

  1. The only true pops of color in our house are in my office - stacks of ribbon, a collection of design books and clippings on my inspiration boards - and even those are fairly coordinated with a neutral background... :) Loved these strategies to confidently infuse color into your home.

  2. A list of 99 items to get rid of in your home organized by room - bookmark for rainy weekend afternoons. Having just painted our basement storage room floor and starting to reorganize, it is full-on decluttering mode in that space.

  3. These 10 coastal locations make perfect vacation spots in New England. We are looking into a long weekend this summer in Newport!

  4. Flower magazine recently conducted a fun interview with Annie Sloan.

  5. Take a peek at the cute interiors on the pages of Contemporary Cottages.

  6. As of April 11th, the Library of Congress opened the Main Reading Room - normally only accessible to researchers - to public visitors as a pilot project running through September. Grab a pass and plan a day in D.C.!
